A fine blue and white two-sectioned porcelain vase - Guangxu Cyclical Mark corresponding to 1893 and of the Period

The trumpet-necked upper section and the vasiform base rising from a bell-shaped foot both painted with ribboned bajixiang against a classic lotus flower and leaf scroll ground, the collar to the base displaying the reading Guangxu kui-si nian zhi in a single line of regular script. 16 1/4in (41.3cm) - Estimate: $25,000 - 40,000 - Unsold.

Note: An identically marked two-section vase that may be the pair to this lot was sold in Christies New York sale number 7084, June 1, 1990, lot 277 and in Sotheby's Hong Kong sale number 214, May 2, 2005, lot 657.

Its body of flattened globular form with a pair of loop handles extending from the shoulder to the cylindrical neck, painted in richly hued cobalt with a classic lotus flower and leaf scroll design to both sides, various decorative bands drawn around the neck and above the foot (star crack). 13 1/4in (33.5cm) high - Sold for $7,500 plus Premium and tax
